Since 1974

Fifty years of screenings

Cinema Apollo is a historic single-screen cinema, opened in 1974 by the Vaccari family. Padded seats, a raked auditorium and air conditioning: for the time, it was an advanced venue, built on a simple idea — the best possible film at the lowest possible price.

It has been a landmark for Albinea and the surrounding area ever since, run by the same family. The programme is still built on patient research: from crowd-pleasing first runs to the midweek quality-cinema seasons that have become a fixture for arthouse lovers.

"Padded seats, a raked structure and air conditioning: for those years it really was a cutting-edge venue."

— Franco Vaccari, long-time manager
